Some very terrifying footage just in from Russia, on the eve of the near-miss of NEO (near earth object) 2012 DA14. The Russian government is not saying it wasn’t related to DA14, but there are unconfirmed reports that the Russian military shot it down at around 30,000 feet. This seems highly unlikely given the extreme speed the meteor came in, but regardless there is some talk about this.
Hopefully there are no more meteors/asteroids entering our atmosphere, but some experts are saying that DA14 might have several hundred smaller objects on the same trajectory orbiting along with it, and this might be what we just witnessed in Russia. Watch both videos below, the second includes the massive explosion and sound that accompanied the meteor. If DA14 hit Earth, a Tunguska-like event would be in store.
